Successful completion of the three-month training program for 6 young people from the Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian Communities

01/30/2025

Six young individuals from the Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian communities successfully completed today the three-month training program on the basics of journalism, videography, and video production!

This training program was part of the first phase of the project “Countering Negative Stereotypes about Kosovo Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian Communities through Media Initiative,” supported by UNMIK and implemented by the Center for Innovation and Development in partnership with KosovaPress.

This three-month program is a remarkable step for the youth from the Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian communities. Not only have they gained skills in journalism, videography, and video production, but they now have the opportunity to transition into media professionals by working as interns in some of Kosovo’s most renowned media institutions.

The second phase of the project will bring new opportunities for the youth as they will work as interns in well-known media outlets such as Radio Television of Kosovo, RTV Graçanica, and KosovaPress from February 3 until the end of April 2025!

This is an important step towards developing professional skills and creating new opportunities for the youth from these communities.
